SHORT BIO: Dr. Coy F. Cross II is a retired air force historian. In 1980 he attended a small Unity Church in a converted house in Modesto, California, when a guest speaker, Reverend Carol Ruth Knox, gave the Sunday lesson. Her message reverberated at the core of his being. He studied with her until her murder in 1987. That’s when Coy made a vow to make Carol Ruth’s lessons, which had such a profound effect on his life, available to others. In 2013 Unity of Walnut Creek granted Coy Cross II the license to publish all of Carol Ruth Knox’s material – a 26-year-dream-come-true.

LONGER BIO: As a child in Southeastern Kentucky, Baptist and Adventist Christian churches shaped my vision of God, prayer, the world, and my place in it. As a teenager I began to constantly question church teachings and I felt a deep sense of guilt from my constant misdeeds or impure thoughts, even though I was a good kid. I left the church. By my twenties, I had become an obnoxious agnostic.

Years later, I began to doubt my doubt. That uneasy feeling grew into unrest and then emptiness. I became convinced that something was missing from my existence. Then began my quest for that ‘something more’.

I was attending a small Unity Church in a converted house in Modesto, California in October 1980, when a guest speaker, Reverend Carol Ruth Knox, gave the Sunday lesson. For the first time in my life, I heard a message that I knew at the core of my being was truth in large letters, all caps, bolded, and italicized. I knew this was a person with a special message. I studied with her until she was murdered in 1987. I vowed then to make Carol Ruth’s lessons, which had such a profound effect on my life, available to others.

In 2013 Unity of Walnut Creek granted me the license to publish all of Carol Ruth Knox’s material. This is a 26-year-dream-come-true for me. “The Path of God” is the first of Carol Ruth Knox’s writings that I have edited for publication.
